Snapshot in 5: a year in review
As 2020 comes to a close, it seems only too appropriate to look back at some of the counties featured in the ‘Snapshot in 5’ series.
The aim of this monthly series was simple; to tell the story of the WLA in different counties using 5 historical sources. We’ve had photographs sourced from The Land Girl, as well as people’s personal collections, interviews, alongside drawings, and advertisements.
At the end of each post, I shared stats on the number of women who worked in the WLA during the war, as well as suggestions for further reading. Hopefully these should be useful starter posts for people who want to delve into more research at a local area.
