Employment

Pre-work training: Training at Fieldgrove Farm, Bitton, Bristol. Then moved to a farm in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Whilst at Chippenham she stayed at WLA Hostel, Greenway Lane, Chippenham, Wilts. Shared with Lily Loveridge (sister).

Type of work undertaken: Farm work, milking cows, hay making, tilling the land etc.

Best memories: Meeting husband and the camaraderie with the other girls.

Opportunities to meet other Land Girls: Probably at local dances etc.

Life after the war

Did they return to their pre-war occupation: No.  Moved to Scotland, married and had children

Post-war occupation: A full-time mother.

How did work in the WLA effect their life? Met and married her husband who was a military policeman stationed nearby to the farm in Chippenham.
