Poem: Land Army – An Honourable Mention

“Land Army – An Honourable Mention” by Hilda Kaye Gibson. Written for the 21 August 2009 commemorative event in London for representative former land girls from each county of England and Wales.They were treated to a DEFRA lunch at the Royal Opera House and tea at Buckingham Palace where the Queen and members of the Royal family chatted to former land girls, as a follow-up to the 2008 issue by the British Government of Veterans Badges to members of the Women’s Land Army.
