Land Girl article in Woman, September 1945

This article from the women’s magazine ‘Woman’ discusses the importance of land work in 1945. The middle of the article ‘Full-time work on the land’ describes the work of the WLA. Published a a time when women were leaving the WLA to start their post-war life, advertisements such as this aimed to encourage new women to farm the land. The WLA was needed until November 1950. The back cover of the magazine also used a Land Girl to advertise Kolynos dental cream.
